War Between the States wargaming (the Civil War to you yankees...)
Fire and Fury, American Civil War Miniatures rules. These are the best capture of serious ACW combat I have ever played on a wargame table. You maneuver brigades, the real way units operated in the ACW. I have enough painted soldiers using this ruleset to play any battle in the ACW (3000 hand painted 15mm figures). The makers of Fire and Fury have a new webiste to promote their WW2 line of products as well. Drop me a line. Maybe we could get together and play soldier.
Piquet, Hallowed Ground is quickly becoming a strong favorite is my wargaming rules stable for the ACW. Piquet combines impetus with luck and skill. You have enough rope to hang yourself with in these rules. You can do what you want, but plan poorly or loose focus on what is important to your army, and you will lose. Piquet is purely adrenaline from start to finish. I also own Piquet, Blitzkrieg for my WWII microarmor. Again, very good set to try. Piquet has two sites, a Piquet.com and a Piquet.org.
Johnny Reb III is also a very good rule set for gaming the American Civil War. It is regimental based and good for fights up to division or corps size battles.
